Anusol Suppositories - Key Information
What are Anusol Suppositories?
Anusol Suppositories are a medicated treatment designed to relieve discomfort caused by haemorrhoids (piles). They help reduce itching, swelling, and pain by delivering targeted relief directly inside the affected area.
What Causes Haemorrhoids (Piles)?
The exact cause of haemorrhoids is unclear, but straining during bowel movements is a major factor. This often happens when a person is constipated. Pregnancy can also increase the risk, as the growing baby puts pressure on the anal blood vessels, leading to swelling.
How do Anusol suppositories treat haemorrhoids or piles?
Anusol Suppositories contain three active ingredients that work together to treat internal haemorrhoids by reducing swelling, soothing irritation, and preventing infection:
- Zinc oxide – Protects the skin and helps reduce irritation.
- Bismuth salts – Have an astringent effect, helping shrink swollen tissue.
- Balsam Peru – Provides antiseptic properties, helping prevent bacterial growth in the affected area.
These ingredients work together to relieve discomfort and promote healing.
