How does Vesicare work?
Vesicare, a bladder antispasmodic, works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder, giving you an increased ability to control your urination. This medicine decreases the feeling of needing to immediately urinate.

The main benefit of using Vesicare is the relief it provides to symptoms of an overactive bladder. Vesicare effectively relaxes the muscles in the bladder to give you the increased ability to control your urination.
How do I use Vesicare?

Side effects & precautions
Vesicare, as with other medications, can have some unwanted side effects, although not everybody who uses the product will get them.
The use of Vesicare may cause some side effects, such as constipation, dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, upset stomach, dry eyes, unusual weakness or tiredness, or a headache. If any of these symptoms persist or get worse, inform your doctor immediately.
You can relieve dry mouth by sucking sugarless hard candy or ice chips, drinking water, chewing sugarless gum, or using a saliva substitute.
Constipation can be avoided by eating a diet rich in fibre, drinking plenty of water, and exercising. If you become constipated while taking this drug, ask your pharmacist for help in choosing a laxative.
Inform your doctor right away if you experience any serious side effects of Vesicare such as severe stomach or abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, constipation for more than 3 days, fever, signs of kidney infection, and mental or mood changes.
Seek immediate medical help if you experience any very serious side effects, such as vision changes or eye pain or swelling.
Vesicare rarely causes a very serious allergic reaction. However, get immediate medical help if you experience symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, such as rash, severe dizziness, itching or swelling of the face/tongue/throat, or trouble breathing.
Report to your doctor if you experience other side effects that are associated with your use of Vesicare.
Before you start your treatment with Vesicare, inform your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine, or if you have other allergies. Vesicare may contain inactive ingredients that could trigger allergic reactions or other problems.
Before you start your treatment with Vesicare, share with your doctor your medical history, especially of the difficulty of urinating or other bladder problems, stomach or intestinal blockage, liver disease, slowed movement of stomach or intestines, enlarged prostate, kidney disease, or myasthenia gravis, a disease of the muscles or nerves.
Vesicare may blur your vision or make you drowsy. Alcohol consumption and marijuana use can make your condition worse. Do not perform any task that requires alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, until you are sure that you can perform it safely. It is important that you limit your intake of alcoholic drinks.
Vesicare may make you sweat less, making you prone to the risk of heat stroke. Avoid hard work or exercise in hot weather and other activities that may cause you to overheat. Drink plenty of fluids when the weather is hot. Immediately look for a place to cool down when you overheat. Get medical help if you have a fever that will not go away.
The elderly are more sensitive to the side effects of Vesicare, especially confusion, drowsiness, constipation, and problems urinating.
Vesicare is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Use Vesicare only during pregnancy if your doctor will determine that it is clearly necessary.
It is not established if Vesicare passes into breast milk. It is important that you consult first with your doctor before you decide to breastfeed.
Drug interactions alter the way your medicines work or increase their side effects. You should share with your doctor a list of all medications you are currently taking to enable him to check for any unsafe combination with Vesicare.
