Does Wegovy need to be kept in the fridge?

Wegovy doesn't burn fat; it helps regulate your appetite and makes you feel fuller for longer, reducing how much you eat. It should be used along with diet and exercise programmes for healthy and sustainable weight loss that allows you to burn calories and build muscle.

Is Wegovy the same as Ozempic?

No, Wegovy and Ozempic are not the same, but they are closely related. Both the Wegovy pen and Ozempic pen contain semaglutide as their active ingredient. However, they are approved for different uses and are administered at different doses. Ozempic is an injectable medication primarily approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is administered once a week to help blood sugar regulation (blood glucose) and appetite regulation, in conjunction with diet and exercise. Can Wegovy impact sexual health?

Scientists have looked into how semaglutide (the main ingredient in Wegovy) and similar medicines called GLP-1 receptor agonists affect sexual health, but the results are mixed.

One study (Cauwenberghe et al, 2022) found that GLP-1 receptor agonists might help boost testosterone levels in men who are overweight and have low testosterone, whether or not they have type 2 diabetes. Similarly, Jensterle et al (2023) found that using GLP-1 RA had a small effect on raising testosterone levels. However, it showed a bigger potential to help improve sexual health, even though the increase in testosterone wasn’t very large.

For women, a study (Niafar et al, 2015) showed that a small group of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) saw a drop in their testosterone levels after using a GLP-1 receptor agonist for 3 months. They also lost weight.

Is there a link between Wegovy and erectile dysfunction?

Studies exploring the link between erectile dysfunction and the use of Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy) in non-diabetic men found that there was an increased risk of experiencing health conditions such as erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism, though the rate of incidence was low (Kahl, K; 2023).

Is there a link between Wegovy and hair loss?
