For more information on the prescription medication patients should refer to the Almotriptan patient information leaflet.

Almotriptan is a drug that belongs to the class known selective serotonin receptor agonists. The drug works by constricting blood vessels in the brain, preventing pain signals from being sent to the brain, and blocking the release of certain natural substances that cause pain, nausea, and other symptoms of a migraine.

The main benefit of using Almotriptan is the relief it provides to a migraine attack and its symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light or sound.
