How does the Babystart FertilCount male fertility test work?
The Babystart FertilCount Male Fertility Test is extremely simple. It works by staining the sperm cells in your sample to produce a blue colour. The more sperm cells that are stained within the sample, the darker your t 'Test Well' becomes, which will indicate a high level of sperm concentration. The test is recommended as a great start when exploring your own fertility levels - something usually only explored in moments of crisis, when attempts to conceive prove unsuccessful.
It's vital that you follow the instructions whilst completing the test for the most accurate results. This means only adding the amount of drops the test tells you and if you do make a mistake whilst taking the test, abandon the test and use a different one. Do not carry on with the test if you make an error, switch to the other pack and start over.
It usually seconds for the semen or solutions to drain through the filter. If it takes longer than 5 minutes the semen may not have liquified enough and the semen sample is too thick. You will need to repeat the test using a new semen sample.
If you do get a negative result, please do not panic. A low sperm count may be a temporary issue or another issue that may not affect your fertility. If you do get a negative result, please discuss this with your GP who may want to arrange some further tests for you.
Please allow three days since your last ejaculation before using the Babystart FertilCount Male Fertility Test. It's vital that you do not open the foil pouch until you are ready to begin your test. You must not reuse a test and please do not use the test if the foil pouch is torn or damaged. You must not perform the test after the expiry data on the foil pack. The test must be kept in a cool, dry place until you are ready to perform the test - do not freeze the tests.
